Hi, my name is Dana Welch. I’m happy to introduce myself as one of the counselors at Henderson Middle School this year!
I grew up in Clayton County and graduated from Morrow High School. After high school, I attended the University of West Georgia where I received my degree in Early Childhood Education. My first job was teaching 3rd grade and EIP Reading at Hawthorne Elementary. After teaching a few years, I decided to go back to school (University of West Georgia, again) to pursue my degree in Counseling. Upon graduation, I became a mental health counselor at Trinity Counseling Center and obtained state licensure as an LPC.
I am happy to be back to my roots in education. I’ve spent the past two years working with the Griffin-Spalding school district as a mental health consultant and now I have the privilege of working with the amazing people of Butts County!
Beyond the role of school counselor, I have been happily married for 23 years and I have 4 children, ages 19, 17, 13 and 4. I enjoy traveling, shopping, reading and theater.
I am thrilled to be joining the AMBUSH at HMS!
Please do not hesitate to contact me for assistance.
