Mrs. Catharina McWhorter

Hello! My name is Mrs. McWhorter. I am entering my twelfth year of teaching. I currently teach EIP - K, 1st, 2nd, & 4th reading, and 2nd, 3rd, & 4th math. I have taught kindergarten, first grade, and second grade. I graduated from Gordon State College in 2012 with my bachelors in Early Childhood Special Education General Curriculum. I earned my masters in Early Childhood Education from Valdosta State in 2015 and my specialist in Early Childhood Education from GA Southwestern State in 2018. I am also gifted certified through Griffin RESA. I was nominated as the Stark Teacher of The Year in 2018. I love my job and enjoy coming to work every day to teach our younger generation to be lifelong learners.

Extra Information:
I moved to Jackson in 1999, attended HMS, and graduated from JHS in 2004. I love our small town life! I am married and have five fur "kids". Two cats - Jake and Roarie and three dogs - Charlie, Hunter, and Penelope. They are spoiled rotten! I love to read, travel, cook, and stay active. My hobbies include photography, making crafts and shirts for others, and creating resources for other teachers. I love to plan curriculum and instruction!
