HOW CAN EAS HELP ME?
The Butts County Board of Education understands that at one time or another, we all experience personal problems. And even though we try to prevent it, these problems sometimes affect our work performance. After all, no one can totally focus on work when worried about problems at home, substance abuse or other troubling issues. That’s why the Board of Education offers Employee Assistance Services (EAS) as one of your company benefits. EAS is designed to help you with personal problems that may affect your work performance. The service is CONFIDENTIAL and is provided to you and your family at no charge.
EAS can help you develop ways to deal with a variety of problems including:
- Stress
- Physical illness
- Relationship issues
- Anxiety
- Family issues
- Depression
- Parenting issues
- Grief
- Divorce
- Alcohol or drug abuse
HOW DOES EAS WORK?
When you contact EAS, you’ll meet with a professional EAS counselor who is trained to analyze your problem and assist you in solving it. If your problem needs special assistance by another source (legal, medical, financial, etc.), EAS will help you find the most cost-effective resource to help solve your problem. But about 75 percent of the time, help is provided by the EAS counselor at no charge to you, and no outside assistance is needed.WHO CAN COME TO EAS AND HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
EAS services are free to the employee, legal spouse and dependent children up to the age of 18 or up to the age of 22 if still legally a full-time student. If additional help is needed from an outside resource you will be responsible for payment to them, but in many cases we can help you find community resources that accept insurance or are available at no charge.WHEN SHOULD I CALL EAS?
The sooner you seek help with a problem, the easier it is to solve. Ask yourself these questions: Are you having trouble completing routine assignments? Is it difficult for you to concentrate? Do you feel physically tired and generally uneasy? If so, it’s time to call EAS.IS THE EAS OFFICE STAFFED BY BUTTS COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION PERSONNEL?
No. Confidentiality is one of the most important aspects of the EAS program. EAS is an independent company whose services have been contracted by your company.WILL EAS REVEAL MY PROBLEMS TO MY SUPERVISOR?
No. The nature and details of your problems are held in strict confidence. The Butts County Board of Education personnel do not have access to EAS files. If you come directly to EAS, which happens about 80 percent of the time, your company will have no knowledge of your case. If you are referred to EAS by your supervisor, we will tell your supervisor ONLY whether or not you have contacted EAS and are following our recommendations, and then only with your authorization.WILL COMING TO EAS HELP ME AVOID DISCIPLINARY ACTION?
No. EAS offers its service to help you cope with problems and regain your previous level of job performance, but we have no influence on company matters involving disciplinary action or procedures.HOW CAN I CONTACT EAS?
You can call EAS for an appointment at the number listed below. We have 24 hour emergency/crisis phone service, so you will always be able to get help when you need it.
